Department of International Studies and History, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), organised a Guest Lecture by the students from Norway, currently pursuing their internship at CHRIST, with a focus on the Norwegian culture, history, politics and soft power.
The talk-cum-interaction essentially focused on tracing the history of Norway from the era of the Vikings to the politics of today, which is a unitary constitutional monarchy. They shed light on the aspect of the Norwegian culture and lifestyle. A country with a small population and key benefits provided to the citizens, they talked on the lines of the governmental facilities extended to the peo-ple in Norway. They then, charted the synergy between Norway and India and how the collabora-tive efforts from both the countries show the subtle functioning of soft power and Norway’s inte-grated relationship with other countries as well via the UN, EU and NATO.
The talk was followed by an interactive Q&A session. The students of 2-MAIS then, gave tokens of appreciation to the guest students.
